When selling a business, buyers want to know how much it’s really worth. That’s where a valuation comes in.
Audited vs. unaudited valuations
An audited valuation is a deep dive into your financials by a third-party accounting firm. It’s often required if you’re selling to private equity, a larger company, or need bank financing. But it comes at a cost - typically between $10,000 and $50,000 - and takes time, sometimes months.
An unaudited valuation, like the one we offer, is a practical and cost-effective way to give you a reliable snapshot of what your business is worth. It’s based on financials that aren’t formally audited but are still grounded in real market data. It’s faster, more affordable, and often all you need to start serious conversations with buyers.
We offer an unaudited valuation for $2,000. In most cases, we’ll only need your industry, NAICS Code (located on your business tax return), and 3 years’ worth of tax returns. Once we get that information, we may need to ask you a few more questions, and then we can provide you with a nice 15+ page valuation so you have a solid understanding of what your business is worth.
